Chiranjeevi finds fault with Govt.

Megastar Chiranjeevi attended the audio launch of the film ‘Shopping Mall’ that was conducted at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad on October 19th. Chiranjeevi launched the audio CD and wished the film to be a huge success. Shopping Mall is the dubbed version of Tamil hit Angadi Teru. Suresh Kondeti holds the dubbing rights of this film.

Speaking on this occasion Chiranjeevi said that piracy has turned to be the biggest villain for cine industry. “Piracy has turned into an acute cancer. We have been pressurizing the government to take severe action against the pirates. Had they taken necessary measures by now, film industry might have not suffered as much as it is suffering now.

Government should understand the producers problems and should take an immediate action regarding this,” Chiranjeevi demanded. D.Ramanaidu, Srihari, EVV Satyanarayana, Kodi Ramakrishna and many other cine celebs graced this event.

Non-bailable warrant against Sridevi

A local court has issued non-bailable warrant against producer Boney Kapoor, his wife Sridevi and four others after they failed to appear before it in a case of alleged copyright violation. Birbal Singh Rana, a local writer, has alleged that the Boney’s BSK Network and Entertainment Pvt Ltd had stolen his script for their movie 'Wanted'. Birbal in his petition alleged that in 2004 he had submitted his copyright script to the company, but it was rejected.

What makes this case interesting is that Wanted is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Pokiri. Boney Kapoor bought the remake rights of Pokiri for an astronomical price and remade it in Hindi under Prabhudeva direction. The story credits for this film were clearly given to the original director Puri Jagannadh. Pokiri was released in 2006 and the petitioner Birbal claims that he submitted his copyright script to the company in 2004.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate B D Bharti also directed them to be present before the court on November 22.

War set up between Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor

In spite of fighting with each other for the number one position all through their careers, Kareena Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai never competed at the box office in the same week. That is finally happening for this Diwali. Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai starrer Action Replay and Ajay Devgan Kareena's Golmaal 3 are locking horns on November 5 releases.

Both these films have their own specialties and credits to pull the audience to the theatres. Diwali being the best season for Bollywood films, trade experts are expecting these two biggies to do phenomenal business in the opening week.

Aishwarya is sporting a retro colorful look in Action Replayy whereas Kareena is in her usual trendy self in Golmaal 3. It will be interesting to see who between the two, the retro look film with a contemporary flavor, Action Replayy, or the comedy of total commotion film, Golmaal 3, will make its way through the audience heart and win their attention.
